Fill in the details and press “Calculate” — the result will appear here.
Attention! Customs payments are calculated based on the data entered. During customs clearance, differences in the total customs payments may arise depending on the method used to determine the customs value of the goods.
How does the car customs calculator work?
The calculator sends the details you enter — vehicle type, engine type and capacity, manufacture date, invoice value and the origin indicator — to the open calculation service of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and displays the response as received. The calculation is therefore performed by the official customs service, not by ROBI formulas, which keeps results aligned with current tariffs, excise rates and the exchange rate. The request is sent only when you press “Calculate”; nothing is requested when the page loads. The calculator uses no artificial intelligence — it is a direct integration with official data.
Which customs payments may apply when importing a car?
Several separate payments may arise: import customs duty, excise tax, value added tax (VAT), customs fees, the fee for the vehicle certificate, the electronic customs service fee and VAT on it, the recycling fee, the fee for customs expertise, and the state duty for the conformity certificate. Which payments arise and their amounts depend on the vehicle: engine capacity and type drive the excise, while the customs value drives duty and VAT. The calculator renders the list of payments dynamically from the official response, so any change in tariffs or payment types is reflected automatically.
What information is required for the calculation?
Five key inputs are required. First, the vehicle type — passenger car. Second, the engine type: petrol, diesel, gas, hybrid petrol, hybrid diesel or electric. Third, the engine capacity in cubic centimetres, which is decisive for the excise. Fourth, the manufacture date, because the age of the vehicle affects several payments. Fifth, the invoice value, transport cost and other costs in US dollars. Following the official methodology the customs value is: Customs value = (Invoice value + Transport cost + Other costs) × USD rate, so the transport cost must be included or the result will differ from the official calculation. In addition, the origin indicator is selected: goods imported from countries with a free trade agreement with Azerbaijan are exempt from import customs duty.
How accurate are the results?
The calculator does not perform the calculation itself — all amounts come from the official service of the State Customs Committee, so the results follow the official methodology. Still, the outcome depends on the accuracy of the data you enter. During actual customs clearance the customs authority may determine the customs value using a different method, and if the invoice value is not accepted the final amount may differ. Transport and insurance costs, the technical condition of the vehicle and discrepancies in documents may also affect the final payment. Treat the result as a reliable estimate for planning, not as an official commitment.
